Speaker’s CV

Mr. Lee Kwok Weng, B.Eng. (Mech.)(S'pore), M.Sc.(Ind.Eng)(NUS), DipBA(NUS), GradDip Mktg.(MIS), LLB(Hons)(Bucks), LLM(Lond), Barrister-at-Law, Advocate & Solicitor (Retired), Supreme Court of Singapore, MMIS, MSIArb, FIES, Honorary Legal Advisor, IES & SISO, a senior lawyer, was in continuous private legal practice for almost 29 years running his own law firm before his retirement from legal practice.

 

He is a trained practising Mediator and had been a principal Mediator on the panel of the Singapore Mediation Centre for many years before he stepped down to conduct private mediation. He is also an accredited arbitrator.

 

He has for many years been an adjunct Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Business Admin, National University of Singapore, teaching Business Law in the MBA programme. He was also for many years an Adjunct Lecturer in the Nanyang Technological University & BCA Academy.

 

He specialises in Business Contracts, Negligence, Safety & Environmental laws, Information Technology and Engineering, Construction & Building Laws.  He is a very experienced lecturer and trainer and is well-versed in the technical field, marketing and management practice too.  

 

Mr. Lee brings with him considerable industrial project and business development management experience, having worked as a project engineer/manager for more than 12 years in the public & private sectors. Eventually before his switch to the legal profession, Mr. Lee was a Senior Project Manager in a leading Multi-national engineering and construction corporation serving the energy, marine, oil and gas industries onshore and offshore managing numerous EPC projects. 

 

As an “engineer-lawyer”, Mr. Lee has also dealt with cases involving amongst others safety, engineering and building and construction laws.
